“The Business of Being a Doula”
Conference schedule:
10:00-10:30am registration and check in
10:30-11:30am The Different Ways to be a Doula; Meet and discuss doula work from a wide variety of women in the field.
15 minute morning break
11:45-1:00pm Marketing Yourself; Learning tips and
tricks of the trade from birth professionals.
1:00 – 2:00 pm Lunch Break
2:00-3:15pm Working with Contracts; find out effective ways to work the paper side of doula work.
15-minute afternoon break
3:30-5:00pm Balancing Doula Work with Family Life-a round table discussion
We will have raffle prizes, snacks and a booth for selling doula related items.

From the Northeast:
*From I-94 go east towards Chicago. I-94 will merge with I-90; continue to take this almost to the Downtown loop area, then head West on I-290
(Eisenhower). Continue to take I-290 West past the Sacramento exit, past the Central Ave. exit, Austin Ave., will be the next exit and it will be on the LEFT hand side of the expressway, unlike the other exits. Exit at Austin Ave. and turn right at the end of the expressway ramp. The first stoplight you will see is Harrison St., pass this... go to the next light, Washington Blvd. And
turn left. Follow Washington Blvd. Until the next major street, Ridgeland Ave (there is a light) and then turn right. You will now go north for a number of blocks. Go past Lake St., and past Chicago Ave. the next light will be
Augusta St., turn right. The library is on the second block in from the Ridgeland and August intersection. Follow street signs for parking. There is an elementary school across the street from the library. The library is on the south side of Augusta on the corner of Augusta and Cuyler Ave.
From the Northwest 1
*From I-294 go southbound towards the suburbs and I-290. Follow the signs for I-290 going East towards Chicago. Continue to take I-290 East past 25th Street exit, past 1st Avenue exit until you reach Harlem Avenue (which will exit on the left side of the highway. At the exit ramp turn left (north) on to Harlem Ave. Follow Harlem Ave. north past Lake St., to Chicago Ave. Turn
right (east) at Chicago Ave and take that east towards Ridgeland Ave. (you will pass Oak Park Ave as well, keep going) Turn left (north) at Ridgeland Ave. Take this to the next stoplight, Augusta St. and turn right. The library is on
the second block in from the Ridgeland and August intersection. Follow street signs for parking. There is an elementary school across the street from the library. The library is on the south side of Augusta on the corner of Augusta and Cuyler Ave.
From the Northwest 2:
*Take I-90 east; follow the signs to meet up with I-294. Get on I-294 going south and follow the above directions to Dole Library
From the West:
*Take I-88 east towards Chicago. Follow the signs and merge onto I-290 going east towards Chicago. Follow the same directions as those coming from I-294 when they meet up with I-290.
From the Southwest:
*Take I-55 east towards Chicago, and then exit on to I-355 going North.
Take I-355 to I-290 and follow the same directions as those coming from I-294 when they meet up with I-290.
From the Southeast:
*From South I-294, go North and exit onto I-290 headed east towards Chicago. Follow the same directions as those coming from North I-294 when they meet up with I-290.
From the South
*From I-57 go North to Chicago, merge onto I-94 going North. Exit I-94 onto I-290 going west bound. Continue to take I-290 West past the Sacramento exit, past the Central Ave. exit, and then follow the same directions as those
coming from the Northeast once they are on I-290.
